Here it is from a distance - freshly planted and growing!
This box holds the green peppers, zucchini, cucumbers, and some flowers for color!
This box holds the lettuce, garlic, squash, and a tomato plant! We've been eating the lettuce for about a month now... it's awesome!
In this box there's a watermelon plant, tomato plant, and some sweet potatoes... along with some pretty flowers.
And this last box holds the broccoli, green beans, onion, and a tomato plant - also some flowers!
Here are our herbs... basil at the bottom, cilantro to the right, rosemary to the right, then oregano and parsley before you come back to the basil!
So we planted, we weeded, and then we went on vacation...
So we planted, we weeded, and then we went on vacation...
... and apparently while we were on vacation IT RAINED!!! Our garden GREW!!!!
Look at how it grew!!!!! Ryan's face I think is a great depiction of how we both felt!
Check out our monster squash!!! It has at least three little squash growing!
And check THIS out!!! This zucchini is MASSIVE!!! It was SO little... and check out the cucumbers in the back! We didn't have much hope for cucumbers this year - Claxton killed the first plant by peeing on it... we finally got him to stop doing that and sha-bang!! Check out the new dog-pee-free cucumber plants!! There's even a cucumber the size of my hand hiding under those leaves!! We will have cucumber salad after all!!! :)
It is SO neat to look at the tomato plant and see all the little tomatoes! If you look close enough you can see them! They're so cute!! We check every day hoping they will turn red SOON!
And this last box... check out the broccoli!!! It seriously looks like it's on steroids!! All that growth in a week!! There's three broccoli heads getting bigger and bigger every day!! And then!! The beans are quickly vining and growing... we need to get some stakes and rope in there so they stop vining themselves to the tomato plant!!
And here's the herbs... the basil is AMAZING!!! And the cilantro is pretty funny... we weren't able to use it as fast as it grew so it went to seed... and sprouted... about three feet away from the herb pot... in the middle of the yard!! :) We love our garden!!! More pictures of our fresh vegetables to come!! :)
