Several from church came including these - Pastor Martha "Grandma", Carley "Aunty C", and Bill :) Aunty C and Bill were two that "walked Asa out" Sunday night 4-17-11 :)

These were Asa's last visitors in the hospital - Great Aunt Gina and Aunt Renee - Ryan's twin sister.

We were sooo glad everyone was able to come see us! Some others that stopped by not pictured here - Chris & Sam, Jerry, Glenna, Angela, April & Kasey

Daddy's sleeping... he's pretty exhausted by this little guy!

Here's a shot of Asa meeting his puppy dog Claxton on Wednesday. Claxton has done SOO well... he loves his little brother and hasn't been bad or obnoxious at all. :) Actually Asa has seemed to have a very calming effect on the dog!

So so sorry pictures haven't been posted sooner... we don't have internet in our house yet, and my phone stopped letting me upload pictures to my blog three weeks ago. :( This post and the previous were posted during one of Asa's naps... soon we will post more!! Welcome, Asa Michael Goode!

The walking worked!!

We walked, I went to bed at 10:30pm, woke up at 12:30pm with pretty inconsistent contractions... and at 1:00am Ryan woke up. We started timing the contractions, but they weren't regular at all. Around 2:00 Ryan said "I think we should just go to the hospital." I agreed... so we started getting ready. :) Ryan loaded the dishwasher, I changed my clothes, we took our sweet time, and left at 3:15am. At that point I was definitely in pain... but I still didn't think it was consistent and just kept thinking "It's going to get worse!" We got to the hospital at 3:45am and when they checked me, I was already 8 cm!! The nurse asked me if I wanted an epidural, then said it was a little too late - I could have this baby on my own! Asa was born just two hours later... Monday, April 18, 5:46am, he weighed 7lbs. 14oz. and was 21 inches long... our little miracle baby! :) Welcome to life, Asa!

Walking Him Out!

Hopefully this is the last Sunday with a baby inside... :)

So... it's Sunday night, April 17, and little baby Goode has STILL not made an appearance! We have Bible Study every Sunday night with a group of young adults at our house... and after meeting together tonight they all decided to help us attempt to make the little guy come... we want to meet him! So... we all went to the hospital in Canton where there are big stairs outside... we walked laps up and down the stairs for a while, and then walked around town up and down hills... here's some pictures:

Baby News!

Good news!!

A baby may be here sooner than later! At our recent doctors appointments there hasn't been any progress toward little mister coming... today we found out that Kara is at 2cm and our doctor thinks the baby may come on his own sometime this weekend! If he does not, they will induce labor on Tuesday morning and we are thinking that little baby Goode will definitley be here by Wednesday, April 20!! :-)

Pray for us this weekend!
(And pray the baby comes on his own without induction!)

All Packed & Ready to Go!!

This is a shot of our jeep... its been loaded and packed for our trip to the hospital for about 2 weeks now. And yes, that is a bag of potato chips in the trunk. :-)

I am so ready to have this baby... though I can't get my mind off of that bag of Salt & Vinegar chips! My doctor took salt away from me 3 months ago and I have been really good at avoiding it... I don't cook with it anymore, and I haven't had chips for 3 months! However, the thing I crave the most is salt... popcorn, peanuts, soup, a little on my beans or potatoes please, and most of all: chips!! This morning I heard myself saying "I can't wait til this is over so I can eat those chips!" Ryan laughed so hard.... the prize is supposed to be a baby... not a bag of stupid chips! Aren't I supposed to be saying "I can't wait til this is over so I can hold the little guy!"?!? Haha. I truly can't wait to meet him... but ah, it will be so nice to add a little salt back to my diet! :-)

Pregnant - First Six Months :)

It has been such a long time since we have posted a blog...
and much has happened since June 14, 2010!

Our biggest news: We are having a baby!
A little boy... and his due date was yesterday, April 10, 2011.

Here are some pregnancy pictures from the first six months: July - December. :)


We found out about Baby Goode July 30, 2010... right before going to the church to set up for VBS. I was so giddy that day... but everyone just thought I was excited for Bible School! That afternoon a lady at our church, Marie, came up to me while Ryan was on a ladder in the sanctuary, and told me that she had directed VBS years ago - but she had just found out she was pregnant and had morning sickness the whole week - and had to have a shot each day just so she could make it through VBS! I had been a little sick at this point... which is one of the reasons I took the test... and so here I am - not wanting to let on that we could be pregnant, but shocked she'd have to have a shot each day for morning sickness, and all of a sudden Ryan yells out from the ladder "Yeah - that would be something if you were pregnant, huh Kara?" Jerk! We laughed so hard about that later... and somehow I didn't tell Marie that day!


This is one of Ryan's birthday presents... August 8, 2010. :) Happy Birthday, Daddy!

We had finally told all of our family and made the big announcement to the church this October... I'm starting to have a little more of a bump now.

This one was taken at Thanksgiving in November - month four - pretty evident now there's a baby in there... though Caleb's baby is bigger! :)


December 20 was pretty much a huge day - today we found out that our baby is a boy!! :) Little boy Goode we are SO thrilled you are a boy and can't WAIT to meet you!! :)

Pregnant - Last Three Months!! :)

It's crazy looking back thinking about how small my belly was and to look down and think - huh - little kid - you were supposed to come out yesterday!! :)

This is me January 11... doesn't really seem like I have a belly bump at this point.

This one was taken January 22... only 11 days later... and it just looks like he popped right out there! :)

Here's a shot February 5 - 30 weeks... only 10 to go!! :)

February 26... a little bigger... 33 weeks.

I like these next two pictures... this one was taken March 29...

and then this one was taken March 31... 0nly 2 days later... and it seriously looks like he grew more... and dropped! :) I am HUGE!!! :)

And here I am yesterday... April 10 - My due date - Do I not look like an elephant!?! :) Baby - please come soon! The doctor thinks the baby will come late and they plan to induce me sometime during week 41 - which would be sometime after April 17... we are hoping and praying he will come by himself before the 17th! That would be wonderful. Will definitely keep you posted!
