Additions to A Year in Review...

Here's a few more pictures for the post the other night...
I finally got a few off my phone.  Still working on a total photo dump from my phone to the computer.
Maybe I'll have more pictures to share soon!
Love ya!!

Feeding the "chickies" in September with Papa... he didn't appreciate the one that stepped on him!
But he LOVES chickens.

Riding his first tractor in October at Tanner's Apple Orchard in Peoria.

Eating apples with Papa in September... he LOVES apples.  And his Papa.

He was a cow for Halloween...

And a lion!!

Silly goosey is addicted to pacifiers!

Asa loves stories with Daddy and "Puppy".

Asa also loves playing at the playground at church with Daddy.
This shot's in February.

This one's also in February - Asa has started loving baking and cooking with Mommy.
He'll steal bites of dough sneaky-like and turn around so you don't notice that he's eating them!  Little goof.

Playing in the snow in February.
He wasn't really sure about it...

But he loved making a little snowman!

 Happy Valentines Day!!  "Nummy nuts!!"

And here's one from last week... big kid... too big for his highchair.

Lawrenceburg

In just a few weeks we will be moving to Lawrenceburg, Indiana...
Here's a picture of us on the map...
and then a shot of our new house...

Hopefully the snow will be gone by the time we arrive!!
April 8 is our moving day...  there is so much to organize and pack before then!
We'll tell you more about our move soon!
Until then, here's some Asa pictures for you to enjoy...

Asa doesn't do much without his friends... Here he's giving Alvin a ride down the slide, and then Bunny, Moose, and Pete join him and his "Bib!" regularly for lunch.
Just watch out if you see us at the grocery store...
He will probably catapult one of his friends at you!
Have a blessed day!

Sweet Tile

Exactly a year ago my sweet husband installed my most favorite addition to our house...
tile backsplash in our kitchen.  I still find myself staring at it, and smile everytime.  It's my favorite.
I love it.
A year ago I hoped when I looked out my window this morning that there would be tulips budding out by the shed.  I'm not quite sure what I was thinking... well, I guess last Spring came super early - last winter was weird, not very cold, not much snow - anyway... there are tulips planted, but still sleeping under the cold ground.  But!  I have seen them out the window with the tile backsplash in the background... and even without them, I love looking out my kitchen window, sipping on my coffee, and admiring my tile.
Thanks, husband.  It truly was an incredible gift.

This picture was also exactly a year ago... I can't believe it.
He was so little!!
Stop growing, baby boy!

Interesting Day...

Today was one of those blah, great, not so good, shocking, pretty terrible, not so bad, kinda good, interesting, funky, fun, surprising, horrible, awful days.  Yes, that's right - all those adjectives for the same day.  And it was a Saturday.  Did I say interesting?

It started off with a sick husband... and a baby yelling "Daddy?  Dad-dy!!" from his crib.  :)
Super sweet except that my name is not Daddy and NyQuil prevented Ryan from hearing any of that at all!
Then that baby helped me make blueberry pancakes... and we had so much fun together!
We cleaned house today - or I cleaned house while the boys napped.
We played today.  Asa had a pretty funny phone conversation with himself...
"Hewo?  Daddy sick.  Mommy make some tea.  Yeah, Paddy.  Hi Wob!  Buh-bye."  He loves the Millers.
Then Asa helped me put Daddy's dishes away... who knew glasses went in the trash can?  LOL.
I had a friend call with some devastating and shocking news.
I took soup to a sick friend and hugged a sad friend.
Later I cleaned my laundry room... we found a sweet puppy dog vase that was given to us when Asa was born... and then we broke it to smithereens   :-(  Asa said "Uh oh.  Puppy bye bye?"
We watched the rain out the window.
We even showed Elmo the rain out the window.
We cleaned the dog's muddy feet.
We listened to birdies sing.
We packed some boxes.
We made Daddy homemade lemon ice and chicken noodle soup.
And then Daddy schemed and helped our small group throw me a surprise birthday party!!
With the best baked potato bar ever.  Yum!!  How surprising!!  Thanks, friends!  I truly had no clue!
I found out some more pretty devastating and shocking news.
I prayed with 5 sweet friends - and Asa prayed the sweetest prayer too!!
And then.
Oh dear, it gets worse.
And even worse right now as I realize we just lost an hour and instead of 12:30 it's really 1:30 am.  Ai, yi, yi.
Anyway...
Asa was so excited to see Daddy when we came home from my surprise party at the church...
He jumped up on the bed where Claxton was sleeping too... he was surprised and thought it was so funny that Claxy was up there in bed with Daddy too and he wanted to play with him, or something we aren't really sure it all happened so fast... Asa belly flopped on our sleeping dog who jumped and nearly tore his ear off.
Not really sure if he bit Asa or scratched Asa - seriously could have been either the more we look at it...
But Asa's ear was open, the cartilage exposed, and with 2 other bruise/scratch marks on the head we promptly headed to the E.R.  Mrs. Patty came (1 because Asa asked for her and 2 because Daddy had just taken NyQuil)... and Mrs. Jenni was there too! (She's Asa's babysitter and works in the ER.)  Some of Asa's favorite people there with him... and Dr. Ramos gave Asa several stitches in the ear.  It was horrible.  Asa was such a good boy - so brave - though the screams were devastating.  Absolutely horrifying.
And now we are home.
And it's raining again.
And I can't sleep.
I could lay in bed... but then you would never know about my good, not so good, horrible, terrible, sad, happy, interesting, shocking, wonderful, awful, no good, very sweet, bad day.
I hope yours wasn't as interesting... although, minus the ER trip, I change my mind.
I hope your day was interesting too!
Here's 3 pictures from tonight.

A Year in Review

He has gotten so big...
check these pictures out:

On his first birthday, April 18, 2012 - there was cake... robot cake....

He actually got his own cake...

And it was "Nummy!"

Here he is... the actual day of his birthday... with his first ever ice cream cone!

Here he is in May, learning how to color.

Mommy got a new job in May - Asa's the newest, and littlest, volunteer at the Health & Wellness Clinic!

Hippity the bunny still goes everywhere with Asa.  Everywhere!

Playing in the tunnel at the park is his favorite!

Happy Father's Day, Daddy!  I made you this in June!

 Asa LOVES to be outside!!

And, Asa loves his cousins!!  Kylie, Breanna, and Aunt Nay Nay visited Asa this past summer!
They had so much fun!

Here's Asa in July - the very first time with corn on the cob acting like he eats it every day of his life and it's his favorite food!  Silly little man chowing down!!

Daddy & Mommy went on a mission trip to Canada in July...

And Asa got to stay with LuLu and Grammy and see his cousins too!
(Sorry I don't have a picture of Asa and Grammy from this week.  I'm sure Grammy does, though!)

Asa mowing the lawn in August... though the drought pretty much killed it before he got there.

Spiffy man... wow, he grows up fast!!

One of our favorites... Asa calling for the puppy.  He's very bossy with his puppy.

In September we visited Papa and Grammy... and Asa met the chickens!
He did not appreciate the one that stepped on his leg to get the food from Papa - but was fascinated by them!

He's getting sooo big!  He still loves all his animals!

In October we went back to Ohio to visit Grammy & Papa... Asa knew right where we were, even at 3am when we arrived!  He immediately started making chicken noises and asked for Papa and the chickies - we honestly had never heard a chicken noise or that many words come out of his mouth!  He was so excited!  Welcome new vocabulary and funny animal sounds.  Ask Asa what a shark says... it's super funny!

Asa got to drive a BMW all by himself (well - with Hippity's help!)
in October when we visited Wes & Darlene!  :)

Just like Mommy... Asa loves "colours!"

Pete and Bunny still join Asa regularly at mealtime.

In November Asa got to hang out with cousins!!

And in November Asa became a cookie thief... snatching them right off the counter!

In December we made gingerbread cookies!  Asa helped....

And ate all the cinnamon candies off of the cookies!

In January - with Daddy - Asa learned to play in the dryer.
Dryers and babies freak Mommy out - so Asa stays clear of the laundry room when Mom's around!

Asa LOVES the playground!  And Asa loves Uncle Caleb!
In February while Mommy was in California, Uncle Caleb and his friend Sarah came and stayed with Asa and Daddy... Asa had so much fun playing with them and can't wait to see them again... hopefully soon!

 Uncle Caleb is the best.

This picture is so funny - we caught Asa laughing at Peter Rabbit on one of his videos.

When Mommy came home from California, we all made Valentine Cookies - for friends far away and for Mommy's Clinic Volunteers.  Asa LOVES making cookies!

Asa throws the flower, rolls the dough, cuts the cookies, eats the dough, and steals the cookies!
Nummy!!!  *Smacking lip noise - loudly*

And these days one of Asa's frequented spots is behind the highchair in the corner... this is where he hides from Claxton and yells "No!" anytime he has a cookie and the dog so much as looks in his direction.  He has to hide out to eat his cookies just in case Claxy might sniff at him.  Poor puppy... but Asa sure does love you!  Asa loves to get Claxton treats, can all by himself, and claps and cheers when Claxy eats them!

Wow.
That was quite the year.
So many more pictures are missing, too...
I couldn't get the Halloween shots to load... Asa was a cow and a lion!
Hopefully those will come up sometime.  We hope you like these!
It is CRAZY how much Asa has changed in a year!

Blessings be on you!

Not Blogging...

I have been out of the habit of blogging lately.
And I have no pictures to share as I need to take time and connect my camera/phone to upload.
One of these days I will return with many pictures and posts regularly.
In the meantime... I've been posting some over here: karajoyburkey.blogspot.com and there are a few Asa pictures... check it out.  And have a great day!
Love,
-Kara Joy
