Ah, Vacation!!

We haven't blogged in a while... we have been on vacation. :)

Ah, vacation.

Originally we planned to trek across the US, visit Ryan's parents, and play in the ocean... but our plans changed and we ended up spending most of the week together at home. And it was fun! We did venture to the Chicago area on Sunday and went to Willowcreek and Ikea and spent the night with Kara's brother and sister-in-law. It was a lot of fun. And the best part of our vacation - we repainted our kitchen and laundry room!! :) Bring on the DIY decorative projects! We didn't take very many pictures while on vacation, but we do have a few to share... Asa doesn't make it that long without a picture!

This is an every day face of Asa right now - he's cutting teeth. One day we realized he had one popping through the bottom... and now we have counted four. That's right - FOUR!!! Poor little guy. You can tell they hurt him. One is cut through on the bottom... if you zoom in you can see it in the above picture... and there are 2 white bumps on either side of the first tooth, and there's a little white bump on the top gums too. Wow - they popped out fast! What a big guy. Oh, and! He's trying really hard to sit up on his own - he almost has it - and! He is also trying to stand up on his own. That's right - if there's something in front of him he can push off of he uses it to bring himself to his feet. And as you can guess - he is into EVERYTHING!!!!

Pastor's and Spouse's Retreat took place just a few days before our vacation and the three of us enjoyed 2 nights at a hotel in Springfield, Illinois. Here's some of our favorites of Asa and Daddy playing in the hotel.

Asa got to hang out with his Uncle Caleb when we spent the night at Jonathan and Kate's house after going to Willowcreek and Ikea. We took Caleb to the park with us and got some really cute pictures... thanks, Uncle Caleb for coming and for taking the pictures!

You know, we never really managed to get a good one of just Asa in the leaves... because he was too busy eating them!! :)

Vacation was wonderful!!
We love you!

An Apple for Asa

Asa's Grandpa Goode came to visit him... and took him apple picking! Asa wanted nothing to do with that apple at first, but then he finally touched it and wouldn't put it down. Apple picking was right in the middle of naptime so he was a little disturbed and a little Mr. Grumpy Face.

Here he is picking apples...

We pushed him all over the orchard... and he kept getting apples stuck in his wheels!! :)

Asa loves his Grandpa Goode!

Thanks for coming to visit us! Next time we hope to see Amy and Emily too!! :)

Pumpkins!

Today after church we invited the teens to come over to our house for a pumpkin carving party. It was lots of fun... and we discovered something that Asa does NOT like!

Asa does NOT like pumpkins!!

We sat him in the middle of them for some cute pictures... we tried 2 different times... and both times he immediately started panic crying including big tears and shaking... poor baby! Although it was a little funny! How can he not like pumpkins!?!? Seriously every time he was near one his lip would do that "I'm going to scream if you don't move those" quiver... Ryan was holding him standing next to the piano.. and he looked DOWN at this pile of pumpkins and started crying!! Silly boy!! I was going to dress him up like a pumpkin for Halloween... now I'm afraid he'll look down at his belly and freak out! No pumpkins for the baby... poor little guy... and how funny is that?!?

Daddy makes things all better!

Happy Pumpkin Carving!! :)
Love,

October is Busy!!

October is a super busy month for us... and I get behind on blogging when it's my week on to work at the Hospital. Anyway... here's some from the past few days, and a smiley video for Grammy at the bottom. :)

Ryan got home from Canada and took Asa on a road trip to Indiana... where he made a new friend!!

Here's another one of Asa & Kendall

We love bathtime!!

New food today... sweet potatoes!! Yum!!!

Hehe... Asa isn't sure what he thinks yet...

And apparently now he can't get enough!! Silly baby!

And here's Asa smiling tonight after his jammies... here's a squeaky video of him laughing at his Daddy before his jammies. We love our sweet little Asa boy!

Have a great day!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Caleb!!

A Post for Daddy

Ryan has been in Canada with the region NYI leaders this week... and so Mommy and Asa have been doing life together at home... with Aaron the intern of course! Tonight this is a post of all the pictures off of my phone from the week with Asa... And the first is probably my favorite!

Ryan left super early Monday morning... before Asa woke up.. and around 6:30/7am this is what I found in his room... a little eye peeking at me... and he was laughing hysterically at me! It was so so cute! We played peek for a while and wished Daddy was there to laugh with us!!

Look at that silly boy who likes to peek through his crib. Every morning since then - even before I turn on the light - I can peek in and see his little head up peering through the bars, talking and waiting to see if anyone will come play peek with him... and when he sees you he laughs so hard! Sweet boy!!

Here he is making faces at his friend in the bathroom mirror.

They love to laugh at each other. :)

Such a big boy! His hair seems to be getting blonde!

"Daddy I miss you!! Please take me to Canada with you next time!!"

Here's his toys he LOVES to bang and bang! He's sooo noisy these days!!

Uh oh... here's where the trouble starts.. see that orange thing? Yes... that is my dishtowel that he pulled off of the oven door! No, Dad - the oven was not on and yes I was next to him the entire time - don't worry!

He was so cute I couldn't resist watching him go for it... and! He got himself over there by himself! Trouble, trouble.

And then he just sat there and opened that cabinet door probably 50 times.

He never smashed his fingers in it though... I was impressed and ready to pinch mine in there instead!!

These were from this morning... Asa LOVES his bunny!

He was giggling... can you see it in his eyes?!?

I like this one - stretching - it was early in these pictures... and Momma woke him up. Sweet grumpy smiley baby who loves that bunny!! Thank you LuLu for the bunny. :)

Mom!! Please stop flashing the camera in my eyes... Dad already has pictures of me! :)

He refused to look at the camera all morning... but I think these two are still cute!

We love you, Daddy and can not WAIT to see you tomorrow night!! Drive home safely, please!
