Pass the Peas, Please!

We have had such a difficult time with Asa eating solid food. We introduced solids to him about a month ago when he seemed to be extra hungry. We missed a doctor appointment and talked to the nurse on the phone and she said that the doctor would recommend starting Asa on solid food sometime during 4 months - and to do rice cereal and bananas first. Well... we did that for a week and he got a rash and so we stopped all solids. We don't really think that the rash was caused by the food as it stayed for a long time. It finally went away, we went to see the doctor last month and were very frustrated. She told us that she thinks 4 months is too early to eat and that you should definitely introduce vegetables before fruits. I was super frustrated at that - the doctor and nurse disagreed and I felt lied to. But! Asa was fine through it all. I did decide to make all of Asa's food organically after that and so this past week we tried rice cereal again - only this time it wasn't Gerber - it's natural brown rice. And Asa was hilarious. He had really enjoyed bananas - and you could totally tell that he didn't like the rice. He would eat it for his bottle, but he spit more of it than he ate. Today I introduced peas to him... and, well... you can scroll down to see what he thought.

He ate the WHOLE thing, and he wanted more! It was so much fun feeding him today... and he opened his mouth every time the spoon came nearby!! He smiled, he didn't spit any of it... and I am so excited! If Asa could talk I think he would say "Pass the peas, please!"
